Background
Myrtle & Jens was founded in May 2025 by Benjamin Yam, a Singapore lawyer with over 15 years of experience in litigation.
A few years prior to the firm’s founding, it dawned upon Ben that his best years were still ahead of him. He was deeply inspired by the passionate, entrepreneurial spirit of his forefathers who used their business ventures to elevate the lives of fellow Singaporeans.
In this spirit, Ben decided to set up Myrtle & Jens as a platform to champion access to justice through affordable legal fees and highly personalised service.

He seeks to demonstrate that despite its challenges, legal practice is a meaningful and fulfilling calling. As a mentor, he seeks to emulate the same patience and forbearance that was extended to him as a young lawyer whilst under the tutelage of senior practitioners.

Ben has handled commercial litigation, personal injury / insurance disputes, criminal, family litigation as well as general solicitors’ work.
Some notable highlights include:-
Acting for various families in a multi-million dollar dispute over the administration of Estates.
Achieving six-figure settlement sums for personal injury / professional negligence claims.
Successfully defending an established company at trial and at appeal in a claim by its former employee.
Cases handled by Ben, as well as his views on various legal issues, have been reported in the local media.
